I'm not sure what happened to this poor clip, but when I got it there was some pretty gnarly stuff going on. The gold wash was peeling, there were a few deep gouges, missing and sickly stones, this thing was a mess!
I used polymer jeweler's wheels to buff out the gouges and smooth out the plate wear. I applied gold enamel to the top portion where the plating had completely worn away to cover the gray pot metal beneath. Finally I restoned and gave it a splash of color. I think this may have been my most comprehensive restoration ever.
